Actor Oliver Reed passed away in the year 1999 while filming Ridley Scott’s film “Gladiator”, in which he appeared as an aging warrior named Antonius Proximo. It was the final role in a career that spanned dances of parts, both large and small. But even larger than these roles was Reed’s reputation for being a gentleman tough guy and a raucous alcoholic.
